1st Meeting of the AGORA Group in 2026 in Schkopau

As part of the AGORA meeting, a terminal visit took place yesterday at the Schkopau Intermodal Terminal in the Value Park, hosted by KTSK Kombi Terminal Schkopau GmbH.

Participants gained valuable insights into the terminal’s comprehensive service portfolio, particularly in the field of dangerous goods transport and storage, as well as into the ambitious expansion plans for the site. Among the topics presented were the new truck gate equipped with OCR technology and the planned truck access management system, introduced by Operations Manager Jens Kionke.

The AGORA workshop continues today with in-depth discussions. One of the key topics is how users of intermodal terminals define the concept of “automation” in terminal operations. The results of the working group will be published by the AGORA Group in the near future.

The AGORA-Group would like to thank Jens Kionke and the KTSK team for their hospitality and for the open and valuable exchange on site.

About AGORA Intermodal Terminals

The AGORA Intermodal Terminals working group was established in 2011 as part of an EU-funded project. Its aim is to bring terminal operators together to encourage the exchange of information and ideas, promote mutual learning, and foster best practices in terminal management, capacity expansion, and improved cooperation with intermodal operators, railway undertakings, and other stakeholders in intermodal transport. Currently, AGORA consists of 20 member companies operating over 60 intermodal terminals with a combined capacity of around 5 million loading units.

The AGORA secretariat is operated by KombiConsult GmbH, Frankfurt am Main.
